(23 January 2026) : First up, under this year’s theme of Technology Meets Life, we’re seeking films that explore the unspoken side of the digital age. We are looking for creative factual stories that dig deeper and reveal how technology transforms our relationships, communities, and survival. (January 2026) : Since 2024 and in agreement with our sister festivals in Malaysia and further afield, we have changed the format of the annual physical festival to once in two years. We are glad to announce that we are busy planning a gathering for the end of this year in 2026. The theme for this year is Technology Meets Life.
FreedomFilmFest
The FreedomFilmFest Singapore is an annual cinematic event that celebrates the power of storytelling to shed light on pressing social, political, and human rights issues.
Since its inception, the festival has become a prominent platform for filmmakers, activists, and audiences to come together and engage in meaningful discussions surrounding subjects often overlooked or marginalised in mainstream media.
Through a diverse array of documentary and narrative films, the FreedomFilmFest Singapore aims to foster dialogue, promote empathy, and inspire positive change by showcasing the stories of individuals and communities striving for justice, equality, and freedom.
With its thought-provoking lineup and commitment to raising awareness, the festival continues to play a crucial role in advocating for human rights and societal transformation in the region and beyond.
